Our Mission
Our mission is to uplift underserved communities by providing essential support through hunger relief, educational advancement, and mentorship. We aim to equip youth and families with the tools they need to build a better future one grounded in knowledge, compassion, and opportunity.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build a nation where every child has access to quality education, every family has access to food, and every individual is empowered to rise above their circumstances. Through compassion, connection, and community-driven action, we aspire to create lasting change, beginning in the Lowcountry and reaching far beyond.
Our Story
The Patel Foundation of the Lowcountry was born from personal experience, deep faith, and a profound desire to give back.
Ronak Patel, an immigrant from a small farm in India, arrived in South Carolina in 1987 with his family in search of a better life. He grew up watching his parents work tirelessly balancing their traditional Indian values of service and humility with the challenges of building a future in America. Over time, Ronak carved out his own path as a successful entrepreneur in the convenience store, pharmacy, and real estate sectors. But even as his businesses flourished, something deeper called to him.
He and his wife Vaishali recognized a growing need in their own community students without academic support, families struggling to put food on the table, and young people lacking guidance. These were the very challenges Ronak himself had faced. Together, they created the Patel Foundation of the Lowcountry not just as a charitable outlet but as a mission to lift others with the same care, grit, and generosity that shaped Ronak’s own journey.
From distributing truckloads of food during natural disasters to offering life-skills mentoring after school, every initiative is rooted in lived experience and a belief in karma that good energy out returns good energy in.
The foundation continues to grow, just like the families and students it serves. And while its reach is expanding, its heart remains firmly planted in the soil of South Carolina where service began, and where legacy is being built.
